FESTIVAL

Sœurs Jumelles Festival

From June 24 to 29, 2025, in Rochefort, the Sœurs Jumelles Festival brings together 20,000 attendees and 1,600 industry professionals to explore the synergy between music and image through concerts, screenings, debates, and networking.

Festival DNA

Since 2021 in Rochefort—birthplace of Les Demoiselles de Rochefort—the Sœurs Jumelles Festival has upheld its manifesto: uniting music and image to ignite innovation and emotion. Inspired by the legacy of Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand, it is built around two pillars—diverse concerts and immersive screenings—and offers two complementary tracks:

  • Public track: discover and be moved
  • Professional track: network and co-produce

All of this takes place against Rochefort’s exceptional backdrop: the Corderie Royale, Église Saint-Louis, Cinéma Apollo 8, and Théâtre de la Coupe d’Or.

Formats

At the Sœurs Jumelles Festival, each format celebrates the fusion of music + image and offers varied experiences: from open-air concerts to immersive installations, including the Mobile Cinema dedicated to music documentaries. Premieres at Cinéma Apollo 8 plunge audiences into the heart of the latest audiovisual creations, while Artistic Encounters at the Théâtre de la Coupe d’Or reveal creators’ behind-the-scenes processes and inspirations. For professionals, the Hôtel Mercure La Corderie Royale becomes a hub for networking and co-creation, combining round tables, speed-meetings, and pitch sessions. Accessible, interactive, and convivial, these formats embody the festival’s inclusive, innovative spirit, bringing everyone together to forge new bridges between sound and image.

Values & Commitment

At the Sœurs Jumelles Festival, four commitments guide our actions: ensuring a truly inclusive experience, promoting strong cultural gender parity, fostering knowledge sharing, and adopting eco-responsible practices. To bring these values to life, we offer a dedicated track for deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, maintain a balanced women-to-men lineup, run educational workshops throughout the year, and implement sustainable solutions (water refill stations, upcycled textiles, soft mobility, and waste sorting). These commitments guarantee a festival that is accessible, equitable, educational, and environmentally respectful.
